I Hiked 385 Days: My Gear List

I spent a year hiking the coast of Great Britain and was really able to streamline my gear. Much of the gear I set out with was absent when I finished.

My gear changed a little with the seasons, mostly in clothes and sleeping equipment. I have referenced some gear I liked and swapped out. As the walk went on, I tried to strip back and remove as much weight as possible. Every gram carried is extra energy expended, which accumulates over 385 days on trail.

I had thought because the hike was so long I should carry more things, but the opposite proved true. The more I tired, the more I resented everything I carried. A general rule I ended up having was ‘if I don’t use it every day, lose it.’
