Marathon of Buenos Aires

Dream big. Every Monday morning I used to run alone 30 kilometres or more. For one week, my full training was between 50 and 65 kilometres running. I felt enthusiastic because my first complete marathon would be in Buenos Aires, Argentina. So, I was decided to enjoy running with athletes from several countries and continue travelling to different places in South America. Even though it would be hard, I believed it possible to succeed as a marathonist in Buenos Aires.

Six weeks before the race, I started running with a team and everything changed. My training started to focus on smaller distances with a more intensive timing. For example, instead of running 50 kilometres a week, in the group, I ran 10 km in 45 minutes each session twice a week. Furthermore, every weekend we enjoyed running twenty km. Meanwhile, I decided to see nutritionists because I needed to be optimal for the marathon. Although I am a vegan they made an exclusive diet for me which consisted of respecting the four meals of the day. It was very rich full of vegetables, fruits and healthy carbohydrates like chocolate and bread. The most rewarding thing was that everyone encouraged me to run that 42 km and cross the finish line. As a result, I felt plenty of confidence living in an athlete’s body.
