The Real San Francisco

we had to visit the special place we called “the Greens.” Our friends and neighbors around the corner, David and Barry, called this area the Greens because their parents, Patrick and Deidre, referred to it as the Greens after St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin. It’s a park in the middle of town. Most people call it Stephen’s Green or the Greens. A great place to walk around. We used to feed the ducks there with my Grandfather. It was fitting for all of us to call our “giant backyard and play area,” the Greens. If you look closely at the top left photo above, you can see where David and Barry and their parents lived.

David and Barry often visited Ireland with their parents, and sometimes they’d even bring back gifts. The best gift I received was from David, which surprised me. If you knew David, you would understand why. Two ceramic kitties in a basket, which I kept for many years.
