“Super Mario” Franchise Reviews; World 1: The OGs (Original Goombas)

Now that Super Mario Wonder is coming out, I thought I’d play through all the games in the series! Here I am writing about them so I can make up for the hours I’m spending on it!

1–1: Super Mario Bros. It’s a classic. It’s one of the greatest games of its generation, if not the greatest. What I love most about it is its simplicity. While things do get hard in the later worlds, it’s an incredibly simple gameplay loop that’s easy to master, throwing in only the mushroom and fire-flower as power ups. It’s hard for me to talk about it’s cultural impact, because it’s something I’ve always known. I wasn’t around at the time of release to really see it happen, I’ve just been blessed with having it around! All-in-all, this is a fantastic game and an infallibly good time even after playing all the others.
