FHriends supporting Boston’s chronically ill, one scratch-made meal at a time
<p><a href="https://www.servings.org/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Community Servings</a> provides scratch-made, medically tailored meals to individuals and their families experiencing critical or chronic illness and nutrition insecurity. Recipients may have HIV/AIDS, cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, or other life-threatening illnesses that may prevent access to the food they need.</p>
<p>To kick off our day, we suited up in aprons, gloves and hairnets (yes, we all looked GREAT). Because we were preparing meals for people with chronic illnesses, many of whom are immunocompromised, it was important that we adhered to Community Servings’ safety protocols. Our temperatures were taken at the door, hands were washed frequently and masks, gloves, aprons and hairnets were worn while handling the food preparation.</p>
