<p>“Are you happy with your weight?”</p>
<p>There I was, squeezing in my annual check-up at the last minute in late December, flipping through the usual paperwork. It was the first time I’d ever seen such a question on a doctor’s check-in sheet.</p>
<p>I was grateful to see it. It looked to me like a consent question: <em>Do you want to talk about your weight — or would you rather not?</em></p>
<p>And more importantly, it seemed to be giving control of our body back to the person who <em>should </em>have it: its owner.</p>
