Expats Leaving Hong Kong (By The Numbers)
<p>Sure, <strong>a lot of things have changed</strong> in Hong Kong since I first arrived here in 2015.</p>
<p>I haven’t left (even during the dark times) and don’t intend on leaving Hong Kong, but sure, I have 100% noticed a <strong>decline</strong> in the “ex-pat” community.</p>
<p>I thought it would be helpful for those that are interested to see the data:</p>
<p><strong>The Data</strong></p>
<p>- In the past year (2022) over 113,000 residents left Hong Kong, marking a 1.6% population decline. This is the largest population drop in over 60 years[1].<br />
- The city’s population has decreased from 7.41 million in mid-2021 to 7.29 million in mid-2022[1].</p>
