Evolution of a team’s football tactics over a season : Barcelona 2018/19 a case study

<p>We&rsquo;ve all heard countless pundits and manager&rsquo;s waive off early season results or form often stating that their teams need more time to ramp up and get up to speed. The festive season between December &mdash; February is full of comments on the impact of fatigue on players as a consequence of playing a lot of games back to back crunched together in a tiny window of time, this is especially the case for the English Premier League. March &mdash; May is often considered the business end of the season, where people often say&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;it&rsquo;s about getting results and not the performances&rdquo;.</em></p> <p>In this two part article we&rsquo;ll make use of data analysis to try and identify how the performance and tactical setup of a team evolves over a season.
