Portugal’s Eurovision Dreams come true

These are outstanding achievements for the Portuguese nation, considering that Portugal had to wait 53 years to achieve its first ever Eurovision victory. Prior to its win last year, Portugal was the longest-participating country in the Eurovision Song Contest, without having won, and hadn’t even finished in the Top 5, despite sending many beautiful songs. I have great respect for this beautiful country that persisted in taking part in the contest regardless of the numerous poor results it had received over the years. Others may have assumed that Portugal would eventually get fed up and end up withdrawing from the competition. Portugal stuck to sending songs in its native language, which I think is one of the most beautiful languages in the world, and one that is on my list of languages to learn. A visit to this wonderful country would be an amazing experience, and after having watched the semi-finals this week, Portugal is one of the places I would certainly love to go to. I can’t imagine anyone who would refuse to go there: lovely people, beautiful sights, great weather, and wonderful music. This is what I have heard from others I know who have visited Portugal.
