Pavilion of the Enlightened, Bangkok.

Ancient Siam is a museum park in the shape of Thailand, constructed by Lek Viriyaphant and spanning over 200 acres. Ancient Siam is known as the world’s largest open-air museum. The 320-hectare “city” beside the crocodile farm in Samut Prakan province comprises 116 constructions of Thailand’s major monuments and architectural attractions. The old Siamese kingdom’s lands approximately correlate to the kingdom’s shape, with monuments placed in their geographically precise locations. Some of the structures are life-size reconstructions of existing or historical locations, while others are miniature versions. To ensure historical accuracy, the reproductions were made with the help of experts from the National Museum. The ancient Grand Palace of Ayutthaya, the Phimai Shrine in Nakhon Ratchasima, and Wat Khao Phra Viharn on the Cambodian border are among his notable achievements.Lek Viriyaphant has had a passion for art since he was a child, which led him to build the Ancient City. Initially, he planned to construct a Thai map-shaped golf course with miniatures of major national ancient sites for the sole purpose of tourism and teaching.

Learn More
