The New American Dream

I’m an “elder millennial” or I guess that’s what we’re being called, we were raised on the lie that if you put in some hard work in school, then go to college and get a degree that’ll open up all kinds of opportunities, and you’ll be able to have a decent life.

They left off the fact of a shrinking job market, ballooning housing market prices, the crushing unique debt of student loans for those of us that didn’t have trust funds, and stagnated wages that mean that you essentially make less each year with inflation calculated in, since most corporations see raise freezes as a normal practice to help the budget… It’s all an uphill battle, with most people working multiple jobs or side hustles to make it by. In the end they’ll just work you till you’re all used up.
