On Breaking Bad. Just an elaborate fangirl moment.
<p>The feminist within me yearns to delve into a character analysis – or “praise,” would be more accurate – of Skyler White before addressing the male counterparts of the show. Also beautifully, as I embark on this paragraph, my Spotify plays “Megamo Aval.” The Tamil lines of the song are roughly translated to<em> “I was seeking rainbows when lightning struck me. I lost my sight to that scintillating radiance. Even my shadow abandons me to follow your path. The unfinished poem is left behind.”</em> A song depicting a lover’s heart yearning for his ladylove. What better way to describe the narrative of “Breaking Bad” than by calling it a love story in its centrality? A love story of a man who falls as deeply as he steers away from his anchor – the ethical compass of the protagonist’s life, someone who has always upheld the moral high ground.</p>
