3 Not-So-Ordinary Eats In CDMX

One of the first places I visited when I arrived in CDMX, thanks to a friend’s recommendation, Choza is a hidden gem in CDMX that can be a bit hard to find, but once you see the black gate and people queuing outside, you’ll know you’re in the right place. You will need to knock or ring and a very friendly host will come out and add you to the queue and explain you the rules of the house. You would normally start on the first floor, the so called “listening room”. This room as some serious sound system and will allow you to enjoy you to please your ears while sipping a beer or some wine, before you get assigned a table upstairs. Once the table is ready, the will walk you upstairs where you will see a beautiful terrace with a gorgeous open air kitchen and candle-lit tables. While everything we tried was amazing, a special mention goes to the rosmary-smoked, aged wagyu stake, served with chimichurri, paprika fries, and eggs. You will be tented to taste many dishes but this one alone was more than enough for two, so I’d suggest you to go with more people. Wine selection is limited and a bit pricey so you might wann stick to beer or have a cocktail.
