Eat, Pray, Love: Brave or Spoiled?

Eat, Pray, Love shows society’s views on happiness compared to personal beliefs, the cultural value of food, and the privilege of white transnational travelers.

I’m sure you’ve already seen this movie (or maybe even read the autobiographical book it’s based on), but in case you haven’t:

The movie follows recently divorced workaholic Liz on her one-year journey around the world; she spends three months exploring Italy, India, and Indonesia in pursuit of inner peace, spiritual guidance, and self-fulfillment.

Happiness, through the limited view of modern Western society, leans toward a dream unsatisfactory to many.
