Detroit Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Drug Trafficking and Unemployment Fraud
<p><a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2024/01/25/detroit-man-15-years-drug-operation-unemployment-fraud/72352550007/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">A Detroit man, Robert Lampkin,</a> has been handed a 15-year federal prison sentence for his involvement in a drug trafficking ring and an unemployment benefits scam, according to officials.</p>
<p>The sentencing took place in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Lampkin, aged 41, faced consequences for his dual illegal activities that affected both the community and taxpayers.</p>
<p>U.S. Attorney Dawn Ison, from the Eastern District of Michigan, stated, “We will use every resource available to combat those who spread the scourge of illegal drugs in our communities. We also won’t cease our efforts to hold accountable those who used a global pandemic to enrich themselves at the expense of taxpayers.”</p>
