Driver’s license becomes license to kill

<p>Without overly dissecting the collision&rsquo;s variables (weather, time of day, speed), it&rsquo;s worth noting that the intersection of Mont-Royal and Parc is a busy one for bicycles. On the opposite corner from the scene of the collision, a bicycle path unceremoniously meets its terminus. Both the cyclist and his killer were traveling south on Parc Avenue. Parc is a fast-moving vehicular artery and has already been the theatre of several collisions where drivers have killed either cyclists or pedestrians. It&rsquo;s also of note that this particular collision occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic, a time when gyms were closed for exercise and citizens were practicing social distancing by not traveling on public transit and a huge number had adopted the bicycle instead.
