The double-shelled egg

<p>This is a question often asked in the trans community. For those scratching their heads, an &ldquo;egg&rdquo; in this context is a trans person who&nbsp;<em>does not yet know that they are trans</em>, and an &ldquo;egg crack moment&rdquo; is when the realisation finally dawns that, in fact, you are not the cis man or woman you always assumed you were.</p> <p>For some trans people the realisation comes completely out of the blue; one day they&rsquo;re living what they assume is a perfectly normal cis life, thinking what they assume are perfectly normal cis thoughts like &ldquo;but all people of my gender hate their bodies, right?&rdquo;, and the next they are questioning everything about themself. This can, understandably, be quite traumatic.
