No, Chicagoans Don’t Actually Eat Deep Dish Pizza
<p>Sure, The Windy City is home to famous deep dish establishments like <a href="https://giordanos.com/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Giordano’s</a> and <a href="https://www.loumalnatis.com/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Lou Malnati’s</a>.</p>
<p>And, of course, we Chicagoans have eaten there at some point or another.</p>
<p>However, contrary to popular belief, deep dish is not the most widely consumed pizza in the city.</p>
<p>It should be announced to visitors from speakers atop Willis Tower and on every L station platform that deep dish is NOT the go-to choice for locals.</p>
<p>Why the media often pits Chicago deep dish vs. New York pizza in gastronomical debates is beyond me.</p>
<p>Ask <em>anyone</em> who grew up or lived in the Chicago area for any extended period of time.</p>
