anxiety.exe — back to development… again!

When I came up with anxiety.exe (when was it…), my main vision for the game was to simulate a user’s mind as a mindOS — a cute computer-like interface.

Memories were supposed to be stored like image files, thoughts as notes, conversations as e-mails and chats… Chat, right. It was supposed to be the main feature — a chat with an unknown person, later revealed as a player’s anxiety. In between, I wanted multiple cozy minigames that help the player learn about strategies to fight that anxiety (with explanations — for example focusing on breathing is a popular one, but not everyone knows why it is working) and thanks to clearing them, unlock new answers in the chat.

In short, it was meant to be a calm, educational game about different ways to deal with anxiety and mental disorders in general.
