Demilitarized Zones: How to Stop and Prevent Armed Conflicts such as the Hamas vs Israel Conflagration
<p>As a political scientist and long-standing observer of international relations and geopolitics, I am convinced the international community of nations is fully capable of imposing ceasefires and equipping and deploying <strong><em>demilitarized zones</em></strong> powerful enough to stop and prevent armed conflicts, especially the conflagration unfolding between Hamas and the Israeli government, which is trapping unarmed Palestinian and Israeli civilians in the crossfire.</p>
<p>But the community has been paralyzed for most of my lifetime by the so-called “great powers” and their governments and the international institutions they dominate, which have deliberately prevented the establishment of easily-constructed peace-keeping institutions and forces.</p>
