Beyond the Streets & Adidas’ Cyclone Sweatshirt

I recently explored the “<a href="https://www.saatchigallery.com/exhibition/beyond_the_streets_london" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Beyond the Streets</a>” exhibition at the <a href="https://www.saatchigallery.com/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Saatchi Gallery</a> — supported by <a href="https://www.adidas.de/originals?af_channel=Search&af_reengagement_window=30d&c=adidas-Product_Ranges-B-Exact-ROI&cm_mmc=AdieSEM_Google-_-adidas-Product_Ranges-B-Exact-ROI-_-Originals-_-adidas+originals&cm_mmca1=DE&cm_mmca2=e&ds_kid=43700031280578131&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW_Arg-Ew-93rzdePXfXScoKkjRJgqR3JpPb3baw4aO5knK3VvUuvRwaAiPZEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&is_retargeting=true&pid=googleadwords_temp" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Adidas</a> Originals. This exhibition showcased the works of over 100 international mural artists, many of whom have their roots in graffiti and street art and transitioned from their graffiti origins to develop highly disciplined studio practices. Spanning three floors, the exhibition delved into the intrinsic human need for public self-expression. It was curated and founded by graffiti-historian <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rogergastman/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Roger Gastman</a>, who presented not only the remarkable art pieces but also highlighted the significant cultural figures who drew inspiration from this art scene. Moreover, the exhibition showcased various products that were inspired by this art movement (such as my beloved Teenie — Adidas Superstars!). From the beginning to the end (marked by the Saatchi gift shop), this exhibition felt more like a space to hang out and make friends. Probably because I booked a <a href="https://www.saatchigallery.com/exhibition/lgn_lates" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Saatchi Lates</a> ticket — meaning I went there around 7 pm. A DJ was blasting a mix of hip-hop and electro, an increasing number of people were dancing on a small dance floor, and there was, of course, a bar giving out drinks.
