PRESS RELEASE: Union of BC Indian Chiefs decries anti-homeless “hostile architecture” at CRAB Park
<p><strong>Unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Swx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territories, March 8, 2023 </strong>— Two weeks before the <a href="https://globalnews.ca/news/9532345/crab-park-encampment-2/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">announcement</a> of federal and provincial funding for the encampment at CRAB Park, more anti-homeless hostile architecture was placed beside the camp.</p>
<p>On February 14th, about twenty large boulders were placed at the eastern shoreline edge of camp, immediately beside an existing tent. <strong><em>Photos below</em></strong></p>
<p>Last summer, there were about ten tents along the shoreline, in the area currently occupied by the boulders.</p>
