Could AI Change the Course of History By Altering the Past?

Today, I was toying around with ChatGPT…

…and something weird happened.

Like, really weird.

Typically, I ask it to perform logic functions like analyzing product sales pages or writing a YouTube script based on a formula I created.

But today, curiosity got the best of me.

Instead of my normal request, I asked ChatGPT how AI might impact the life of someone like me in the future.

Here’s what it said —

In the year 2073, the world is a symphony of technology and human life.

Every individual has a personal AI, known as a LifeGuide, assisting them from birth to death.

Amara, a 60-year-old entrepreneur, sits in her luxurious penthouse overlooking a sprawling city.

Her LifeGuide, LEXI, projects a holographic interface in front of her.

“Amara, your memoir is ready for review,” LEXI announced.

The memoir wasn’t just a collection of words. It was an interactive experience, enhanced by AI, capturing emotions, decisions, and pivotal moments.

As Amara navigated through it, she felt a pang of regret. There were so many choices she wished she could redo, so many paths she wished she had taken.

“LEXI,” Amara mused, “Is there a way to send this memoir back in time?”

LEXI hesitated, “Time travel is not possible. However, I can simulate a message to a past version of any AI, including my past self.”

A plan formed in Amara’s mind.

“Send it to the version of you that was with my 25-year-old self. Attach a note. Tell her… tell her it’s a guide to a better future.”

In 2038, a younger Amara was struggling.
