Is your makeup self care or corporate greed?
<p>Buccal fat removal, nonsurgical nose jobs, why you need botox at 19; it seems like every other week I log into my socials and discover yet another insignificant, perfectly normal feature being revamped as something that needs to be ‘fixed’. And it just so happens that there’s the <strong><em>perfect</em></strong> product to ‘fix’ it.</p>
<p>This phenomenon I usually see on TikTok popularizes products and procedures aimed at women and creates new insecurities or ‘flaws’ to sell them; making girls hate parts of themselves they never even thought to critique. To justify indulging in such products and procedures, it’s referred to as ‘self-care’.</p>
