Three Cornerstones of Leadership

When I talk to people about Leadership I always emphasize the practical aspects, things that everyone can work on to be a better leader. To tell an aspiring Manager to have more “Executive Presence” or improve “Decision Making Capacity” does not give them actionable advice. It simply makes them ponder what those words mean.

The practical side of Leadership, in my opinion, boils down to one thing, and that is how well you adhere to the highest value of Leadership which is:

To achieve results through others

When you look at those words they seem obvious and fairly simple. But they are far from it. The best managers live and breathe this philosophy always putting the greatest effort into elevating those around them, enabling and teaching.

This is because you were not hired to lead by being a cop or taskmaster. And you won’t get people to reach their full potential this way. You become a great leader by stepping back and using your skills and talents to make everyone around you better.

Visit Now
