<p>Newspapers are a long-forgotten medium in our modern world. But I happened to spot a copy of the <em>New York Times</em> in a moment of boredom and realized it’s still a unique source of connection to the world around us.</p>
<p>A giant statue of General Robert E. Lee graced the cover of the commentary section that day. It looked so familiar. I could have sworn it was a photo of the one that once stood on Monument Avenue in Richmond and became a living work of art during the protests for George Floyd. I was somewhat surprised to find out that this one was in Charlottesville.</p>
