There is a common thread that unifies the right and the left.
<p>There is a single common thread that runs through both the insurrection of January 6th 2021 and the ‘Great Resignation’ of 2022. I didn’t pick up on it until I listened to what the insurgents were saying between the lines.</p>
<p>The insurgents common woe was that they couldn’t stand what America had become. Their lives were hard, and getting harder. Their children didn’t seem to have a future here. They wanted change, not the kind that privileged other folks, POCs, immigrants. No, they wanted the memory of a kinder time when the Americans on TV lived lives of luxury and leisure. Of Leave it to Beaver and Andy Griffith. They wanted a dream. They’re looking in the past to find it.</p>
