Paris Isn’t Just the City of Romance and History — It Has a Dark Side
<p>When my girlfriend and I visited Paris in January 2020, we noticed something more than pretty old buildings and romantic restaurants: It’s quite creepy at night.</p>
<p>Some districts in Paris are quite poor.</p>
<p>Our hotel was in such a neighborhood. I wouldn’t book a hotel room in that area again. But it was cheap.</p>
<p>Getting to our hotel was a struggle on its own. It was above a French pub, and it was full of drunk people who didn’t speak a word of English, and we needed to get our keys. In the end, the hotel owner opened a vague door somewhere, and we were able to get in.</p>
