Case Study: Barnaround, a user-centered approach to City Mobility

On the first day of the bootcamp, Ironhack challenged us to tackle a wicked problem of our choosing, by applying a user-centered approach to it. After some discussion we settled for the following:

As the relationship between the metropolis and rural areas is transforming, moving around the city has also changed over the last few years.

There is now a huge variety of new transportation modes available to people living in big cities. Also, the streets have become a place where people can go for a jog, ride their bikes or exercice. How Might We organize the variety of people navigating the streets to provide a more efficient and cleaner city?

The timeframe

To tackle the challenge, we had a grand total of 7 working days (but we all know we did some good old weekend overtime, eh?). Here’s the catch though; we weren’t privy to that information. One of the challenges for this project was dealing with emerging problems as they came, ultimately learning by doing.
