The MTA has let New York City down far too many times

With continuous fare hikes followed by degraded service, delayed trains, and old buses it begs why the MTA hasn’t been improving, especially since so many New Yorkers rely on it every single day. And the problem is only made worse when accounting for already disenfranchised communities.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority or MTA has been around since 1904 and today services 15.3 million people surrounding New York City, Long Island, Connecticut, and more. They are committed to maintaining a transit system that is safe, reliable, and accessible for all yet as the years go on they seem to stray from that mission. And even the work done in New York City, in particular, focuses on only a few areas, and many neighborhoods are forgotten and are left to worsen as time goes on.
