On The Fence About Going to a Psychedelic Conference: Fun With The Church of Ambrosia

I am on the fence about going to an event in California, that being Church of Ambrosia’s Spirituality and Beyond 4, an event associated with the mushroom church and associated mushroom dispensary Zide Door in Oakland. I love that dispensary- it’s in an awful neighborhood, it has quality product, and it reeks of a cult. The only thing that would make me say that isn’t a cult it that I really don’t see much Church taking place there and a whole lot more slinging mushrooms. David Hodges has speakers talking a lot of talk about ancient civilizations on lost continents, I don’t know how seriously he and they take all that, it seems like they do take it very seriously. It might also be the way to sell mushrooms, register as a church to keep Uncle Sam away to the extent possible, talk a little paranormal phenomenon or conspiracy theory and to fit the role of a mushroom dealer as a Tenderloin pimp may dress the part to hustle some pussy. It’d be more my style if possible to run such a small church out of an affluent suburban and WASP heavy neighborhood such as the one I live in here in Reno now and operate a smaller church. The biggest differences between myself and David Hodges in terms of belief are two-fold.
