Wanna hear a creepy Chinese folktale?
<p>Have you ever heard of a “tiger mom”?</p>
<p>It’s the term for a style of strict Asian parenting that goes so far that some people claim this form of parenting is harsh and abusive.</p>
<p>But “tiger mom” as a Chinese term, is about as Chinese as fortune cookies.</p>
<p><strong>That is to say, it’s not Chinese at all.</strong></p>
<p>At least, not linguistically.</p>
<p>The term actually comes from Chinese-American college professor Amy Chua’s book, <em>Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother.</em></p>
