No One Cares About Dave Chappelle’s Antisemitism
<p>Dave Chappelle has released another Netflix special, and people are angry. Well, some people are angry, and others are defensive (read: angry, but more smug).Why Netflix continues to platform an unapologetic bigot is a valid question, but also why there is such a large appetite for a barrage of hateful vitriol from an unfunny moron presented as “comedy” says a lot about the state of our society.</p>
<p>Another thing that says a lot about the state of our society is the bipartisan silence or celebration of Chappelle’s flagrantly antisemitic remarks in his standup. There has been a very understandable and appropriate outcry in response to the heinously <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dave-chappelle-transphobic-comments-netflix_n_615f20c5e4b0c6f689a8d631" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">transphobic</a> and homophobic remarks Chappelle made in his special, but his commentary about Jews received no such outcry.</p>
