Celebrating Sobriety Even When You’re Not in a Group
<p>Imeet my therapist about once a month, so a lot can happen in my life between sessions. For much of the time I’ve known her, most of our sessions have focused on helping me escape depression’s gnarly claws.</p>
<p>This last session was different. We ended up celebrating my victories over the last several months, particularly my sobriety. For once, I walked out of therapy feeling positive about myself.</p>
<p>February was a good month for me. I started medication, and by the end of the month, I noticed a huge difference in my mood. To date, I no longer have mood swings, and feeling stable is something for which I’m immensely grateful. It’s not something I’ve experienced often.</p>
