The Day We Bought a Care Home

<p>Iknew we&rsquo;d buy the house the moment I saw the listing. It had everything we wanted. It was old. It was more than big enough, with a large garden (for a house in town), parking, views and it was in budget. Actually, it was under budget. Like, much cheaper than a house of this size and location should be.</p> <p>Amy and I spent a lot of that day looking at the pictures. It had good bones but the 21st century hadn&rsquo;t treated it well. Plastic windows had replaced the sliding wooden sashes. Ugly security lighting blighted the exterior walls.
