Berlin: The Capital of Techno
<p>It might have been born in Detroit, but techno grew up in Berlin. The roots of techno can be traced back to the genius of <a href="https://medium.com/emanate-live/kraftwerk-the-godfathers-of-techno-e65634df610c" rel="noopener">Kraftwerk, the Godfathers of electronic music</a>. The influence of Germany’s fab four spread to the United States during the eighties, where it was quickly embraced, repackaged and later shipped back as ‘techno’ — right in time for the collapse of the Berlin Wall. That collapse and sudden reunification of a country separated for almost thirty years would turn out to be a vital piece of techno’s story.</p>
