The Cannabis Corner, A Podcast

Both the notion of ‘cannabis as a legal herb’ and ‘Podcasts for entertainment’ arrived at the same time for me. Podcasts, I’ve learned since, have been around since the ‘90’s. Legal pot in America is very new. Arresting people for cannabis use has been a goldmine for prosecutors and lawmakers for a long time. New Jersey is the winner of minority collars, often issued to smokers, not dealers, filling prisons in NJ with nonviolent cannabis arrests.

A civil rights issue now exists as a result. Why are we throwing someone’s father or son into a hole for smoking an herb that people are marketing like iPads in California? A grandma in Colorado takes a hit of sativa that her doctor prescribed and does it on Youtube to the delight of her many followers. A man is arrested in Newark for smoking a joint on his porch. It’s the same country. It’s criminal for anyone to pursue the business of warehousing humans or justifying an arrest because of color. Many of these cases need reevaluating. Many of these sentences are now unjust, relative to the obvious evolution of cannabis as medicine, a legal substance in most of our states.
