How Cannabis Became My Calling
<p>Although I spent half my life following the rules and staying out of trouble, that doesn’t mean I was completely naive to marijuana. Like many midwestern kids in the 80s and 90s, I got my first taste of a THC high when I was young — just 13 years old.</p>
<p>But, coming from a large family plagued with drug use and alcoholism, I also made the conscious decision to stop smoking pot when I finished high school. By the time I turned 18, Nancy Reagan’s “Just Say No” campaign had sunk in. I believed that you couldn’t lead a positive, productive life and use cannabis. I’d seen the “This is your brain on drugs” commercials.</p>
