The Cancer Industrial Complex Isn’t Finished with Me Yet

<p>Even though I&rsquo;m an intelligent and well-educated individual, there&rsquo;s a lot I don&rsquo;t know. The human body is an exceedingly complex bit of walking science, and since mine has a habit of going rogue and growing unapproved cellular structures, I rely on medical professionals to help me manage it.</p> <p>That doesn&rsquo;t mean I always agree with them, though.</p> <p>In 2022 I was diagnosed and treated for both colon cancer and thyroid cancer. Now I&rsquo;m a &ldquo;survivor,&rdquo; but I am ferociously surveilled for signs of recurrence. They take my blood and look for various things you&rsquo;ve probably never heard of (lucky you) and they put me in a giant doughnut-shaped machine to look inside me sometimes.
