I Don’t Want to “Just Buy a Wig”

I’m losing my hair. There’s no point beating around the bush. I’ve lost three inches in length despite not having had it cut in two years. It’s thinning. My hairline is receding. And it fucking SUCKS. Hair loss is a very common symptom of lupus, which I was diagnosed with in February. In what I can only assume was a deliberate act of irony by whatever deity or deities may exist, the drugs used to treat lupus commonly cause hair loss. I know losing your hair is not easy for men, but it is ‘normal’ to be bald as a man. That is very much not the case for women. I don’t care if it makes me vain or self-obsessed to be upset about this.
