From the boardroom

As you might know, I serve as the CDO at a smaller subsidiary of a global conglomerate. Our weekly C-level meetings are typically a smorgasbord of business deliberations, decisions, and the occasional project handed down from our corporate overlords.

This week, though, I had been particularly eager for the meeting, thanks to an intriguing agenda item from HR: the launch of a new DEI initiative. DEI, for those unfamiliar, stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

As someone trans, currently navigating my 10th month of HRT and not yet out at work, the concept of a robust DEI framework is akin to a lighthouse in a stormy sea.
