<p>This is my first blog post on Medium. I finally took the time to write about one of the topics that most fascinates with me which is Venture Capital. First I will let you know how I got tangled in the Mexican VC ecosystem and the key lessons that I have learned while operating a VC in Mexico. Its challenges and opportunities.</p>
<p>How I started in the industry lies with my deep curiosity of why Mexico has not reached developed status. I studied a Masters in International Development with hopes to understand what was lacking in the country and the possible ways to fix it. So my professional journey started in NAFIN (SMB Mexican Government Development Bank) where I started first by analyzing SMBs for credit schemes. Just after three months of working in NAFIN I got promoted to the Venture Capital Area in the bank.</p>
