Why Do We Associate Glasses With ‘Nerds?’
<p>When people are asked to consider what a ‘nerd’ looks like, most will conjure up images of someone who wears glasses. Why? Because that is what the stereotypical ‘nerd’ has been depicted as looking like, seemingly forever, so much so that the official emoji to represent a nerd is (a person wearing glasses with buck teeth).</p>
<p>The inspiration behind me writing this piece today comes from having been to a Brian Cox show last week. Looking around to capture the audience demographics, thinking I’d notice a pattern in terms of the age of people, I noticed only one thing:</p>
