It was a truly successful season. However, there were equal or more successful Barcelona sides in the club’s history. It wasn’t about trophies that made this squad special. Instead, their style of play stood out to others.</p>
<p>Pep Guardiola created a position-based team. Every player knew where to position himself in any given scenario. This positioning enabled Barcelona to control the game. They could hold possession for long periods and therefore have stability.</p>
