Time Among Eagles: In a Cemetery

Ever find yourself in an unexpected place to photograph birds?

One day, a friend phoned me to let me know of a discovery during her routine hike inside a cemetery in St. Pete, Florida. She had spotted two adult eagles diligently constructing a nest atop a very large pine tree.

Unlike other places that sometimes are filled with too many photographers, this place was quite the opposite. No one knew of it, and I had them all to myself.

I spent years photographing these beautiful creatures. I knew when it was about time for the couple to meet up again and begin reconstructing their same nest. During the abandoned months, storms would move through and damage it.
