What Israel Means to American Jews

<p>Commentators often cite the irony of Israel&rsquo;s image as a &ldquo;safe haven&rdquo; for Jews being, in reality, not particularly safe. After all, it remains technically at war with Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.
