Sundays Are Always Special

Sundays are always special, no matter what your religion or ethnicity may happen to be. It is a designated day of rest in the Christian world, but it is also the last day of the weekend.

It is a buffer zone between the warm and cozy pleasure of the weekend and the looming certainty of returning to work or school.

It is a day to kick back and nosh on bagels and cream cheese, pancakes or omelets, muffins or scones, and maybe even a spinach and mushroom quiche. Sunday breakfasts are the best!

There’s time to work on a crossword puzzle, to stay in bed late, and to lounge around without the tyranny of the clock dictating your every move. It is such a luxury!

If you have younger children, it is an opportunity to play with them and get to know them better. If your children are older, it is a great time to get together and be cozy with your significant others.

Sundays are a great day to go on small excursions that you wouldn’t ordinarily have time for. Visits to a museum or art gallery are popular in my neighborhood, many are free admission.

Or you could always just go to a movie. My daughter and grandson recently saw “Barbie” and they both loved it.

If you want to save money, the local parks are free and it is a great place to let the kids run off some nervous energy or for you to just walk around.
