Alpine, Slim, Bookworm, Bullseye, Stretch, Jessie — Which Docker Image Should I Choose?
<p>An update to my original article about choosing the right Docker Image for your project.</p>

<p>A few years back, when I was learning how to use Docker to containerize my applications, I wrote <a href="https://medium.com/swlh/alpine-slim-stretch-buster-jessie-bullseye-bookworm-what-are-the-differences-in-docker-62171ed4531d" rel="noopener">an article on understanding the differences between different versions and image types</a>. I was always confused when I first started out as to which version of an image I should choose.</p>

<p>It was and continues to be my most read article. The confusion is real. But, I’ve learned a lot since I first wrote the article and wanted to provide an update.</p>
<p>In short, the difference between docker images is the <em>still</em> the underlying operating system that it runs. But the question still stands, how do you choose the right one?</p>
