All started with a romance book

I guess most people get interested in programming after hearing about it in a video or podcast or maybe after attending a class or a lecture that mentioned it. My journey was a little bit unusual… I decided to pursue a technology career after reading a romance novel.

When I was about to graduate in high school I had no idea what to study after it, so, as a young lost girl, I asked the universe for a sign on which path I should follow next. Mysteriously, one day when I was leaving class I found a book that someone had forgotten under their desk and started reading it. Coincidentally, the protagonist of the story had the same name as mine and when she presented herself as a software engineer I knew that could be the sign of the universe that I was looking for.

After reading the book, I couldn’t stop wondering how the websites and programs that were part of it actually worked, so that is when I started looking for articles, videos and any content related to programming. My curiosity made me ingress in a Information Technology course that I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2020 and since then, I have been working as a developer.

I truly fell in love with development after maintaining an acquisitions and payments system for almost 2 years. During the time I have worked in this project, I managed to dive in mostly on front-end development, implementing solutions regarding monitoring, caching, optimization, accessibility. Honestly, it amazes me how quickly new tools and techniques emerge, and it motivates me a lot to know that I can always be learning and applying something new to my work.

Website
