Why Latino Representation Often Leaves Afro-Latinos Out in The Cold

<p>Those in the Afro-Latino community are often shunned and doubly marginalized in the broader Latino community because of colorism, a preference for light-skinned, and prejudice against dark-skinned people. While it&#39;s fair to say the entire Latino community experiences racial discrimination in America and throughout the global community, it&#39;s also true that Latinos with African ancestry are often left out in the cold when discussions about representations arise. It&#39;s often said that &quot;beauty is in the eye of the beholder,&quot; but perhaps that is the problem here.
